Do The Right Thing: Microaggressions, Anti-Racism and Authentic Allyship

"Accompliceship" refers to the authentic and intrinsic act of putting ones' own privilege and comfortability at risk in order to fight racism, xenophobia and hate in the workplace, academic community and beyond.

In the fight to create a hate free environment, we can no longer afford to passively idle, standby and take up space.

Actively, and with a consistent ongoing effort, allies must learn to make the shift from Doing the White Thing to Doing the Right Thing which requires challenging the status quo and using your own being to create change that often has little impact on your own personal growth and wellbeing.

Together, we will explore:

• Common and everyday racial, gender and age related microaggressions that feed racism, bias incidents and hate crimes.
• Strategies and skills along the spectrum and continuum of authentic allyship to accompliceship.
• The common language associated with Doing the White Thing vs Doing the Right Thing
• Taking up space vs authentic and compassionate leadership in anti-racism

Registration Includes: Workbook and All-training materials, 2 hours of CEU's and certificate of completion
